Martin Luther King Day Of Service

The communities of Berkley and Royal Oak will honor the life Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for the third annual Day of Service on Jan. 21, 2019 at Royal Oak High School (ROHS), 1500 Lexington Blvd. The event will begin at 7:45 a.m. with a light breakfast, followed by inspirational performances from students. MARE MEET & GREET

The New Foster Care will be hosting a MARE Meet and Greet in collaboration with the Judson Center. Children waiting for forever families will be given the opportunity to fellowship and create an art piece together with adults who are seeking adoption as an option for their families. The Foster Parent Orientation is for those ready to move forward with the Foster Parent Licensing process. Hands Across the Water provides Foster Care and Adoption services. We are dedicated to building and supporting families, committed to the belief that every child deserves a home and loving family. This group is for any foster or adoptive parents that need to connect with others in similar situations, find support, encouragement and hope. This is a time to listen, to share, to cry, vent or celebrate little and big joys. Some months are topical and many or open discussion as needed. We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month (excluding June, July, August and December) at Kensington Church in Troy (1825 E Square Lake Rd.). Please contact Carol @ carol.verville@kensingtonchurch.org

Trust-based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Caregiver Training Introduction & Overview

Trust-based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles to attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. Registration begins at 9am and lunch is on your owns from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Certificate of attendance will be provided at the end of each session. The Cost is $75 per person/$100 per couple for all 4 sessions OR $20 per person per session.
