The Michigan Teen Conference Planning Committee invites you to submit a proposal to present a workshop and/or lead a group activity at the 15th Annual Michigan Teen Conference June 19-20, 2019 at Saginaw Valley State University.
Take Charge! is a two-day event geared toward youth between the ages of 14 and 21 currently living in foster care or independent living, and their caregivers and agency caseworkers. Take Charge in 2019 will give youth from across Michigan an opportunity to come together to learn and network with other youth in similar situations without being concerned about the stigma that foster care often carries. Youth will hear from successful adults who also struggled through the foster care system.
Professionals of many disciplines are invited to submit proposals to present at the conference or lead a group activity that will stimulate team-building and engagement.
Range of Topics Sought. The 2019 Michigan Teen Conference Planning Committee is interested in proposals representing a broad range of presentations whose delivery will empower young adults with new information and ideas in the following areas, including (but not limited to):
• Leadership and team building
• Career planning
